sensational performance said Promoter Robert Gonzales. “New Champ looks forward to fantastic night of
boxing at Westgate Casino and Resort in Las Vegas.”
Newman (13-3, 8 KOs), a Los Angeles native who now resides in Las Vegas,
makes his return following a third-round, one-punch knockout over Marcelo
Ruben Molina in April this year. He is conducting an eight-week camp in
Pensacola, Florida under the watchful eye of head trainer, Roy Jones Jr,
who held the super middleweight championship at a time (among many
other) championships. When Asked about the training with the legendary
champion Kevin mentioned “He’s exactly what I’ve been missing the
knowledge, the wisdom, the constant drilling of fundamentals he broke me
down and rebuilt me.”
“I’m glad to be back September 3. I’ve been looking forward to this homecoming for all
my local fans friends, and family, especially my mom and my two year old son who
hasn’t gotten to see me fight and is a huge fan of the sport” Newman said. “I’ve had a
lot of rigorous training and preparation for this fight, but we’re looking towards the
future and are on to bigger and better things. I’m here to take over the 168-pound
division but 100% focused on Chris Pearson.. You don’t want to miss it.”
