Lauren challenges Svensson and Brækhus: ‘’After Habazin you’re next!’’

Mikaela Lauren has laid down a challenge to domestic rival Klara Svensson and female pound-for-pound number one Cecilia Brækhus.

Lauren, who defends her WBC Female World Super Welterweight title against former IBF World Champion Ivana Habazin on April 23 at the Hovet in Stockholm, has said, once she has finished with Habazin, they are next.

First, the Stockholm-fighter has some words of warning for Habazin.

‘’If Habazin thinks she can come to my hometown and take my title, she is mistaken,’’ said Lauren. ‘’I’m feeling stronger than ever, and on April 23, I’m going to knock her out! She is a tough opponent and a former World Champion, but I will make a statement by becoming the first fighter to stop her.’’

After the fight, Lauren says she will turn her attention to the ‘Swedish Princess’ Svensson and a rematch with the Unified Welterweight Champion Brækhus.

‘’After Habazin, Klara is next,’’ she says. ‘’She calls herself the ‘Swedish Princess’ but I’m the ‘Nordic Queen’, and by beating her, I will prove that I’m the best female fighter in Sweden. That’s a fight people would love to see in Sweden, and one I’m sure I can win!

‘’Then I want the rematch with Cecilia! She is one of the best female fighters out there but I’m ready to take her place at the top. When we first fought I was just a six-fight-novice, but now I’m a World Champion, and I know I have what it takes to beat her!

‘’I’m a completely different fighter now. Physically and mentally I am at the peak of my career. Cecilia knows I want the rematch and sooner or later she will have to fight me again. She can run but she can’t hide!’’

Mikaela Lauren defends her WBC Female World Super Welterweight title against former World Champion Ivana Habazin as part of a blockbuster bill in the Swedish capital on April 23. IBF Intercontinental Light Heavyweight Champion Erik Skoglund faces Ryno Liebenberg. Anthony Yigit faces the tough British boxer Chris Goodwin, Klara Svensson rematches Lucia Morelli, the ‘Golden Boy’ Oscar Ahlin faces the ‘Tiger’ Patrick Mendy and Otto Wallin takes on the big punching Brazilian Irineu Beato Costa Junior.
