For every fighter that competes in the Olympics, it is a tag they carry with them for quite awhile after their respective Games. It’s as if it becomes their new first name. “Former Olympian so-and-so.”
For those who go on to become successful in the pros, like Floyd Mayweather, for example, that tag is quickly shed. For others that never quite find their way at the next level, it remains with them for life.
Michael Hunter believes he is part of the former category. And while it is way too early to tell, he has gotten off to a nice start so far in the pro ranks, just winning his second fight, improving to 2-0 with 2 knockouts.
We caught up with Hunter just as he was preparing to start his workout for the day at the Mayweather Boxing Club, where he has begun training with Jeff Mayweather.
