Mariana Juarez will be returning to the ring in short order. On March 2, ‘La Barbie’ will compete in a title eliminator match against an as of yet to be determined opponent.
In her last bout, Mariana Juarez was able to secure a one-sided unanimous decision over Tenkai Tsunami. That was her first fight back following her disappointing loss to Ava Knight in a bitterly fought contest that earned Knight the WBC Diamond belt.
Eager to erase that memory, Juarez is quickly looking to get back into title contention. The victory over Tsunami, followed by a win in March will give her the opportunity. With her eye on a successful 2013, she is full of enthusiasm going forward.
The winner of the title eliminator is scheduled to compete for the WBC super flyweight title which is currently held by Zulina ‘La Loba’ Munoz. The title she lost to Ava Knight was at flyweight, but Mariana Juarez is looking to return to the weight where she has also previously won a title.
“I’m improving my boxing technique, I want to be the one that attacks, which hit and avoided being hit by rivals. Emotionally I feel great, quiet and training very hard, with a lot of discipline.”
There is no doubt that along with Ava Knight, Juarez is among the most popular fighters currently competing. It is likely the brass in the WBC will do everything in their power to give her an advantage in reclaiming a title. It will be up to her to take those advantages and turn them into gold.
