After more than a two-year layoff, two-time featherweight title challenger Mario Santiago (21-3-1, 14 KO’s) will return to active boxing on September 28 in a function being put together by Universal Promotions at the coliseum Juan ‘Pachin’ Vicens in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Santiago had his last fight in 2010, when he lost to Jorge Solis by unanimous decision in Aguascalientes, Mexico – in a fight for the interim-WBA featherweight crown. Three months earlier, he dropped a unanimous decision to Filipino puncher Bernabe Concepcion in Las Vegas, Nevada.
