Two-time champion Eric Morel (46-3, 23 KOs) will have another chance to win a world title when he takes on IBF bantamweight king Leo Santa Cruz (20-0-1, 11 KOs) on September 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The card will be headlined by WBC super welterweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (40-0-1, 29 KOs) against Josesito Lopez (30-4, 18 KOs). Santa Cruz won the vacant title in June beating Vusi Malinga by unanimous decision while Morel lost by the same route to Abner Mares last April in a bout for the vacant WBC 122lb title.
