NEW YORK – HBO Sports’ groundbreaking “24/7” reality franchise, which has captured 16 Sports Emmy® Awards, returns in November for its 16th boxing installment with 24/7 PACQUIAO/MARQUEZ 4, an all-new, four-episode series, it was announced today by Rick Bernstein, executive producer, HBO Sports.  Debuting SATURDAY, NOV. 17 (12:15-12:45 a.m. ET/PT), the all-access series will follow two elite fighters as they prepare for the fourth chapter of their spirited rivalry in an electric pay-per-view showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 8.

“The intensity of this eight-year rivalry will be a great jumping off point for our all-new edition of ‘24/7’,” noted Bernstein.  “We are eager to follow both teams in the build-up to the fourth chapter.  Episode one will be dedicated to revisiting their first three bouts [2004, 2008 and 2011] with a documentary-style production.”

Episodes two and three of 24/7 PACQUIAO/MARQUEZ 4 debut on subsequent Saturdays – Nov. 24 (12:45-1:15 a.m.) and Dec. 1 (9:30-10:00 p.m.) – while the finale debuts Friday, Dec. 7(8:00-8:30 p.m.), the night before the high-stakes welterweight bout.  All four episodes will have multiple replay dates on HBO, and the series will also be available on HBO On Demand® and HBO GO®.

Born amid poverty in the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KOs) has overcome every barrier to become a worldwide figure.  He has captured world titles at eight different weight divisions and is the lone congressional representative from the Sarangani province of his homeland.  Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39 KOs) is battle-tested, fearless and familiar with the big stage.  After battling Pacquiao to a draw in 2004 and suffering narrow losses to him in 2008 and 2011, he’s determined to achieve victory.

Making his seventh “24/7” appearance, Pacquiao is expected to surround himself with a trusted contingent of family and friends as he works at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood with longtime trainer Freddie Roach.  In his third time on “24/7,” Marquez will again be trained by Nacho Beristain in the familiar surroundings of Mexico City.

24/7 PACQUIAO/MARQUEZ 4 is the latest installment of the acclaimed franchise that began in 2007.  “24/7” is the most-honored sports series on TV over the past five years, earning 16 Sports Emmys®.

The St. Petersburg Times has noted, “The best sports reality show on television is HBO’s ‘24/7.’ ”
