On its Monday night meeting, Panamanian Boxing Commission unanimously approved voiding the results of 2 fights between Venezuelan female fighters and Panamanian women with no amateur or professional boxing experience. After four and a half months, the only four members who attended the Comibox weekly meeting decided to declare “exhibition fights” the previously ruled TKOs of Alys “La China” Sanchez over Adina Knowles and Carolina Alvarez against Aneth Morgan. Those fights held at the Palacio Dorado in Panama City on February 28th, 2012 caused the suspension of Commissioner Rogelio Perez who accepted the two women as late substitutes at the weigh in ceremony.
This unexpected decision from Panama’s Comibox occurs 4 days after the WBA decided against Panamanian Celestino Caballero and favored promoter Sampson Lewkowicz on their dispute for the promotion of Caballero’s next mandatory defense. Caballero invited the sports media to a press conference to be held at El Jade Tavern on Tuesday 10am. He is expected to announce his legal reaction to WBA decision.
