Perez wins split decision over Mamadjonov

Darley Perez (26-0, 19KOs) won a ten round split decision over Bahodir Mamadjonov (11-1, 7KOs) in a ten round bout. After having a successful first round, Perez was stunned in the second by a left hand punch from Bahodir that had Perez holding on for the rest of the round. Bahodir had the upper hand in the next couple of rounds but Perez was catching on. A right uppercut in the eighth round, dropped Bahodir, but he managed to beat the count. The last two rounds were easily won by Perez. The finals scores were 96-93 for Perez, 95-94 for Mamadjonov, and 95-94 for Perez. The bout was fought at the lightweight limit.

Chris Avalos won a ten round unanimous decision over fellow junior featherweight, Yenifel Vicente (23-1-2, 15KOs). Avalos got off to a great start sweeping the first few rounds. Vicente finally got into a groove in round four letting his punches go. In the six however, Avalos floored Vicente with a counter left hook. Vicente got up and finished the fight, but was not the same after the knockdown. Avalos had the advantage in the last few rounds with the clearer punches. All three scorecards saw it the same (97-93).

Other bouts=

Alejandro Luna (10-0, 8 Kos) halted Eddie Ramirez (6-12-1, 3 Kos) in the sixth and final round of the lightweight bout. Luna used his height advantage to land the cleaner punches. Luna had Ramirez pinned against the ropes in the final round, landing a barrage of puncheds until the referee stopped the fight.

Giovanny Rodriguez ( 7-0, 4 Kos) defeated Cleven Ishe (3-8, 1 KO) by a six round unanimous decision. Rodriguez was the more active fighter, throughout the junior middleweight bout. The scores were 59-55 and 60-54 twice.

Jonathan Maicelo (18-0, 10 Kos) won a one-sided six round unanimous decision over Wilfred Acuna (13-12, 10 Kos) in a lightweight contest. After Maicelo dropped Acuna in the first round, Acuna spent most of the fight in a defensive shell. All three judges scored the fight 60-53 for Maicelo.

Glenn Porras (27-3, 16 Kos) won an eight round unanimous decision over Jose Silveira (12-8, 4 KOs) in a junior featherweight bout. Silveira made it easy for Porras as he laid on the ropes absorbing punches. Porras, who was the busier fighter, won the bout, by of scores of 78-74, and 79-73 twice.

The fights took place at the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, in Cabazon, California and were televised live on ESPN2.
