Caguas, Puerto Rico – Michael Perez (19-1, 11Kos) stopped Eric Cruz (15-10-3, 15 KOs) in the second round of a scheduled ten round lightweight bout. Perez cut Cruz on his nose with a right hand in the first round. Later in the first, an uppercut sent Cruz down for a knockdown. Perez kept his hands busy in the second and nearly at the end of the round, Cruz quit from an accumulation of punches. The bleeding on his nose did not help either.
Jeffrey Fontanez (8-0, 7 KOs) knocked out Pedro Hernandez (6-6-1, 2 KOs) in the very first round. Both men came out aggressively in the first round. Fontanez connected on a body shot that floored Hernandez. Moments later, Fontanez dropped Hernandez again with a body shot, followed by a right hand and was counted out by the referee. The fight was at the jr. lightweight limit.
Emanuel Colon (1-0, 1 KO) knocked out fellow lightweight, Alberto Gonzalez(0-3) in the first round with a body shot. All three losses for Gonzales have ended the same way, by a body shot.
