Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico — WBO featherweight champion Orlando “Siri” Salido (39-12-2, 27 KOs) defeated Moises Gutierrez (22-9, 4 KOs) by a third round knockout. Salido had his way with Gutierrez while the non-title bout lasted. Gutierrez did manage to connect on a couple of shots in the second round. It was all Salido after that, as he landed hard punches to the body and Gutierrez went down in the third with head blows from “Siri”. Gutierrez did not beat the count. After the bout, Salido talked about a possible fight with undefeated featherweight contender Mikey Garcia, as being an option for his next fight.
