Thursday afternoon former three-division champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley held a media workout at Barry’s Boxing Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada as he gears up for his August 29th pay-per-view showdown against former two-division champion Ricardo Mayorga. The fight takes place at The Forum in Inglewood, California and will be available on all major satellite and cable systems for $49.95.
“This fight is to prove I am back,” Mosley told the press. “I took some time off to heal some nagging injuries that I had but I stayed in the gym and stayed in shaped. I think I can fight another 3-4 years. I don’t know if I can go on till I am 50 like Bernard but I think I have a lot of fight left in me. The goal is still to have rematches against Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez. I want to avenge those losses.”
In 2008 Mosley was leading Mayorga on two of three scorecards heading into the twelfth round of a hotly contested battle. Rather than leave the decision to the judges, Mosley stopped Mayorga with one second left.
The stars will be out at The Forum with former four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, Hall of Fame inductees “Sugar” Ray Leonard and Mike Tyson, middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, plus former champions Shawn Porter, Victor Ortiz and Sergio Mora, all confirmed to be in attendance. Comic icon George Lopez, rap legend MC Hammer and several other stars will also be in the building at what undoubtedly will be the biggest fight in Southern California this summer.
Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com and start at $35.00.
