The prodigal son returned home to wow the hometown crowd with a first round knockout against Carlos Ocampo. With just one second remaining in the opening round, Spence (24-0, 21KOS) sent Ocampo (22-1, 13Kos) crumbling to the mat after unleashing a left hook to Ocampo’s rib cage. The win continued Spence’s unbeaten record as he retained the IBF Welterweight Title.

Not many Champions could enter a bout knowing they would keep their belt win or lose. WBA Super Bantamweight Champion, Danny Roman (25-2, 9Kos), was in such a position and did not disappoint. Roman took an overweight Flores the distance, spreading the point distance Moises Flores (25-1, 17Kos) stuck to using his sweeping left to attack the shorter stockier Danny Roman. Roman, however, worked the upper body with precision. By the 7th, Roman dominates ring movement, cutting off the ring- wearing Flores’ upper body down. Shostats tabulated Roman landing 349 shots and Flores putting in 225. Judges saw the bout one sided, with a unanimous decision 116-112, 118-110, 120-108 all for Roman.

The Jr. Welterweight match ended in a NO Decision, for two of the unluckiest boxers in the business. Opening bell saw some MMA style moves as Adrian “El Tigre” Granados (18-16-2, 11Kos) slammed Javier Fortuna (35-2-1, 23Kos) to the mat. By the 2nd, Fortuna lands several left and counter- lefts, giving him the punch lead. Granados, a bruising marauder throughout the fight, instilled his will on the smaller Fortuna. Within seconds of the 4th round bell, Fortuna was docked 2 points in succession by referee Robert Chapa- one for rabbit punches and another for holding. The bout ended abruptly as Fortuna fell through the ropes possibly landing on his head. According to the Texas Boxing Commission, the fight could not be scored, as it ended before the 4th round completion.
