Junior middleweight/welterweight prospect Keith Thurman (18-0, 17 KOs) did exactly what was expected of him. It just took him longer than expected. Orlando Lora (29-3-2, 19 KOs) who took this fight on a two week notice, was a rugged determined opponent, but Thurman was just too much for Lora to handle. Thurman landed solid accurate shots throughout the fight.
The fight ended when Thurman connected with a left hook, followed by a right hand that floored Lora in round six. Lora got up but his corner stopped the fight. At his post fight interview, Thurman mentioned Paulie Malignaggi, Tim Bradley, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. as his next possible opponents, but Thurman should concentrate on getting more experience before even thinking about climbing in the ring against the welterweight division champions.
