Floyd Mayweather has expanded his female roster, adding former multiple time world champion Layla McCarter to the team that already includes undefeated Latondria Jones. The signing further shows that ladies boxing may be enjoying a resurgence as they are now getting signed and appearing on television far more in recent months. That comes just in time for McCarter who has been one of the most dominant fighters in recent years, but has had to do so in relative obscurity. Now she will have the opportunity to show off her skill to a larger audience.
After talking to her, it appears she will be making her debut for the promotion next month in a fight that will be featured on Showtime. After that, she has her eyes on another champion, Cecilia Braekhus. Making that fight might be a little more difficult, as Braekhus has only fought in the U.S once, and rarely leaves the Scandinavian countries. But for her part, McCarter says she is willing to fight the champ anywhere, anyplace.
