World Boxing Council is Taking Full Aim at The AIBA

The World Boxing Council accuses the AIBA of intervening in the sovereignty

of national commissions of boxing in the world, by requiring their total estrangement
from professional boxing organizations, promoters or any person having a responsibility in professional boxing.

The AIBA also requires these national federations to amend their laws to make the
AIBA the only and highest authority in boxing, so they can only accept their fights and only AIBA professionals are entitled to participate in Olympic Games.

The World Boxing Council wonders if the International Olympic Committee and its honorable President Jacques Rogge will support this command that is a threat of a monopoly and it is clearly a restraint of trade, because it would inhibit freedom of
promotion and participation of most boxers in all countries.

The World Boxing Council warns all national federations who control amateur and professional boxing, to prevent this dictatorial and arrogant act that damages the sport of boxing.

The World Boxing Council will continue to investigate and will work on this issue in its next Annual Convention in Cancun. And it will begin a campaign to avoid monopolies and dictatorships that would kill amateur and professional boxing.
