Anthony Yigit (16-0-1, 7 KOs) plans to steal the show when he takes on Philip Sutcliffe Jnr (9-0, 6 KOs) on Saturday night at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany.
The undefeated super lightweights square off on the undercard of the European Heavyweight title fight and IBF World title eliminator between Kubrat Pulev and Dereck Chisora.
‘’It feels great to be getting back in the ring,’’ said Yigit, who returns following a third-round stoppage victory over former World Champion DeMarcus Corley.
‘’This is my first fight for five months, and my first fight with my new coach CJ Hussein, so I’m looking forward to showing everyone what I’ve got!
‘’I feel like I’ve really improved since I started training with CJ. The good thing is he doesn’t want to change my boxing style. He knows I am where I am today because of what I can already do, but we have made some minor changes. We’ve been working on my defence, and other than that, focusing on becoming faster, stronger and more explosive.’’
The 24 year-old from Stockholm is now looking forward to putting these improvements into practice against the undefeated Irishman Sutcliffe Jnr.
‘’I know Sutcliffe is a hard puncher,’’ he says. ‘’He likes to come forward, and I think it will be a tough fight, but this is the name of the game. I want to be involved in tough fights like this, and I want to be able to deliver exciting performances. I hope everyone will be happy with this match up.
‘’The fans know what they can expect from me. I’m a people pleaser and I always give 100%. On Saturday night, I want to give them a fight to remember and I want to steal the show!’’
